WASHBURN NEWS

The Washburn Destination Imagination teams went to the University of Maine at Orono to compete in the 2016 state competitions on Saturday, April 9, 2016 with two of the high school teams taking home first-place trophies in their challenge categories.

They will be working hard to raise the funds needed to travel to Knoxville, Tenn., to compete in the 2016 Global Competition, where they will be interacting and competing with students from all over the world.

This is a great experience for these students and a chance for them to represent their town, community and state. To raise money for this trip the teams are available to do yard work for donations. Contact Tracy Reed to hire a helper at treed@msad45.net.

Stew Supper

The Washburn District High School Destination Imagination team will host a stew supper on Friday, April 29, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Elementary School cafeteria.

This fundraiser is to help send the Washburn DI teams to globals in Tennessee in May.

The cost is $6/adult, $3/children under 12 and $15/family. On the menu will be various stews, soups and chili, with rolls, dessert and a drink.

Seniors need votes

Three of Washburn District High School’s seniors are candidates in Hood’s Sportsmanship Scholarship.
