EASTON: Launch Day at the Francis Malcolm Science Center, to celebrate the new digital projection system. Demonstrations every 30 minutes, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Refreshments will be served. Check presentation at 11:45 and model rocket launching at 12 noon. FMI: Call the center at 488-5451.

PRESQUE ISLE: UMPI’s University Players will host a talent show at 7 p.m. in Wieden Auditorium for local kids and college students. Signup deadline is Friday, April 22. Entrance fee: $10. PRESQUE ISLE: Opening reception at UMPI’s Reed Fine Art Gallery, 5-7 p.m., for “Plein Air Painters of Maine.” Gallery talk at 5:30; light refreshments. Free and open to public. Exhibit runs May 2-June 19, featuring works painted under the open sky.
