KIERSTEAD, Donald H., 82, PRESQUE ISLE, at Bangor, April 21, 2016. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., on Friday, April 29, at the Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home.
PRESQUE ISLE – Donald H. Keirstead, 82, passed away April 21, 2016, in Bangor. Don was born February 23, 1934, in Presque Isle, the son of Howard and Ella (Burden) Keirstead.
He was a potato farmer and owner of Clover Leaf Farms, which was founded in 1903 by his grandfather. Don was a member and Past Master of Trinity Lodge #130, member of Anah Temple, member of the Maine Potato Council, 50 year member of Maysville Grange and life member of the Presque Isle Fish and Game Club. He was a lifelong member fan of the Presque Isle Wildcats, and co-owner of a hunting camp at McKeen Crossing where he shared very fond memories with a group of special friends and family.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Roberta (Smith) Keirstead of Presque Isle; a daughter, Donna Thornton of Somerset, NJ; a son, Scott Keirstead and his wife, Llori (Lamoreau) Keirstead of Presque Isle; a granddaughter, Lindsay Geaghan and her husband, Andrew of Brewer; a grandson, Aaron Keirstead of Presque Isle; a great-grandson, Isaac Geaghan; a great-granddaughter, Connemara Geaghan of Brewer; a sister, Ruth Wyman of Auburn; a brother-in-law, Sidney Smith and his wife, Marilee of Mapleton; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who could always count on Don to make them smile.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., on Friday, April 29, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church Street, Presque Isle. A Masonic service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friends may call from noon to the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will be later this spring at Johnson Cemetery.
