Ashland to crown six young queens

     The town of Ashland will soon have six new queens. The 2016 Miss Ashland pageants will be held this Saturday, April 30, 2016, at the Ashland District School auditorium.

There will be one pageant for all six divisions beginning at 2 p.m. The six divisions include the Tiny Miss, Little Miss, Pre-Teen, Junior Miss, Teen Miss and Miss Ashland.
The theme for this year’s pageant is “Keep Calm and Sparkle On.”
The girls in the Tiny Miss Ashland portion will compete in fun fashion/runway, gown/party dress and most photogenic, which is chosen by the judges prior to the pageant. Contestants are Renee Driscoll, Charlotte Lilley, Marleigh Spoto and Ember Zarate.
The Little Miss Ashland contestants will compete in interview, done two weeks prior to the pageant, as well as casual wear, talent and gown. Vying for the crown are Emma Cote, Callie Cullins, Emma Doughty and Izabelah Spoto.
The girls in the Pre-Teen, Junior Miss and Miss Ashland divisions will complete their interview module two weeks prior to the pageant, and will participate in physical fitness, talent and gown competitions.
Contestants include, for Pre-Teen, Michaela Carney; Junior Miss, Hailee Cunningham and Kaitlyn Dotson; and for Miss Ashland, Cassandra Bolstridge and Gabbie Wortman.
Tickets can be purchased at the door and are $7 each. Children age 3 and under are admitted free of charge.
