ISLAND FALLS, Maine — How awesome it is to be open in April! The weather was chilly, but that didn’t stop our golf enthusiasts. It was wonderful to see some familiar faces as well as new ones. All 18 holes are open with cart use on marked trails. The driving range also opened this past weekend.
On Saturday, April 23, 2016, we had our 2nd Clean Up Day which was a great success. Thank you to the following folks for their help: Al O’Neal, Billy Robinson, Conner Walker, Hunter Walker, Patty Hartin, Phil Desmond, Ray Miller, Stephen Walker, Ted Hartin and Warren Walker. After all the hard work the volunteers were treated to lunch at The Maine Slice.
The results for the Opening Day 9 hole scramble were as follows: first place, with a score of 38, were: Ray Miller and Warren Walker; second place, with a 40, went to the the team of Al O’Neal, Phil Desmond and Tom Ryan.
