Wildcats sweep Coyotes in tennis

The Presque Isle Wildcats opened their varsity tennis schedule in style Thursday as both the girls and boys recorded 4-1 victories at Old Town.

The PI girls came out on top behind singles wins by Michelle Cawley, Sarah Morneault and Miranda Bragan and a doubles wins by the Sedona Lucas-Anna Robinson pairing. The Wildcats forfeited their No. 2 doubles match for the lone loss on the afternoon.
The Wildcat boys were also shorthanded by managed to triumph over the Coyotes. Denny Young, Andre Daigle and Byron Winslow all were winners in singles action, while the doubles team of Colin Daigle-Mason Young also pulled out a win. Isaac Madore and Gage Young were defeated in the No. 2 doubles match for PI’s only loss of the match.
Presque Isle is also on the road for the next two matches. Today, the teams make the trip to East Machias to take on Washington Academy at 3 p.m. On Tuesday, May 3, 2016 Caribou hosts the Wildcats for matches beginning at 3:30 p.m.
