Owners of North End Landscaping in Caribou recently acquired Presque Isle’s “Sign Place” and will be relocating moving it to the same address as their landscaping business. Both businesses will offer the same services once the sign place moves over to Caribou in late May.      Joey and Lindsey Cowett, owners of North End Landscaping in Caribou, now own the Sign Place and will be moving the business to Caribou by the end of May.

According to Joey Cowett, the Sign Place will move to the 1078 Presque Isle Road address where their landscaping business is currently located. Both stores will offer the same services as before, with the only difference being location.

“I thought it would be a good fit for Lindsey and I as a husband and wife team,” said Joey. “I felt that North End Landscaping could become more of a retail spot where we could put more of a focus on selling stone and bulk products while still offering services such as lawn mowing, snow removal, fertilization, and stone work. Our old services will still be out there, but they may be offered on a smaller scale.”

Joey adds that the addition of a second business will give him and his wife more freedom with their kids, and also that they had previously done business with the former owners of the Sign Place.

“Our moving day will be the weekend of May 14,” said Lindsey, “so hopefully everything will be up and running by the end of May.”

According to Joey, North End Landscaping started 24 years ago.

“We started from the ground up with a small push mower and a few hand tools, and it slowly evolved into what it is today,” he said.

Both Joey and Lindsey emphasized that the only big change will be the Sign Place’s location. The two businesses will retain their names, and the Sign Place will have the same phone number, email, and client list.

“We want to let people know where we’re going to be and that the Sign Place still exists,” said Joey. “We don’t want people to think that either business is going anywhere.”
