To the editor:
I’m really excited to return to my hometown after over 35 years away and to assume the stewardship of our community’s Temple Cinema. It is an awesome responsibility. I’m enjoying settling in, reconnecting with many of you, and learning about the business side of movies. There is so much to absorb and explore that it keeps me pretty busy right now, but I wanted to take a brief moment to express my appreciation for all those who helped me realize my dream.
I am grateful to Bruce Folsom and his brother Masons for advice on the building prior to the purchase. They helped me understand exactly what I would be getting into. I was supremely well served by Sherry Lenentine and Robert Faulkner and the counter folk at KeyBank for establishing my accounts and countless services that made the transition much easier; Daniel R. Nelson and Tracey Quint of Severson Hand & Nelson for adroitly managing my interests in the actual sale; and Mary Jane Cleary and her colleagues at the FA Peabody Company for making sure that I was covered on more risks than I even knew existed.
I have greatly benefited from the excellent work done by Peter Chase, Steven Bither and James McPartland and their crews in making needful repairs. I am thankful for wonderful assistance from Helen Folsom, my mom, Myrna Hutchinson, and my brother Mike, who does such a great job on my website and newsletter.
I cannot begin to cover the breadth of my appreciation for my diligent and patient manager, Jeffrey Salisbury, and the talented and hardworking people that make the Temple Cinema such a great place to be. I have only known them a short while, but I’m astonished by their enthusiasm and dedication to the comfort and enjoyment of our patrons. I am very lucky to work with them all.
Lastly, tremendous thanks to all the people who choose to spend an hour or so in the welcoming dark, transfixed by the colorful lights dancing on the silver screen. I know there is a wide range of entertainment options available, and I am very grateful when you choose to include the Temple Cinema in your lives.
If there is anything we can do to improve your experience, we will thank you again to let us know.
