Race times were a bit slower than usual as low water conditions along the river caused many paddlers to take longer than anticipated to finish. Many canoers had to step out of their boats to get dislodged after becoming stuck on rocks.
Ben Randall had the fastest time of any participant as he completed the course in 1 hour, 20 minutes and 41 seconds.
A total of 89 participants competed in this year’s race in 54 boats. That number is down from last year’s totals of 58 boats and 101 paddlers.
