OAKFIELD — Atheline Mae “Peggy” Lawler of Oakfield died May 7, 2016 in Houlton surrounded by her family.

She was born Mar. 21, 1926 in Amity, the daughter of William and Beatrice (Speed) Muir. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church. Her home was always open and she never knew how many would be at the supper table. To Peggy her family was her life.

She is survived by six children,Maureen and Larry Emery of Hampden, Joseph and Marguerite Lawler of Smyrna, Theresa and Thomas Goff of Merrill, Bonnie and Bryce Clark of Merrill, Christine and Gary Brewer of Oakfield and Nancy and Walter Weymouth of Charleston, Me.; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; one sister, Vera and Ken Butler of Houlton; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Donald; her parents; one son, Michael; and five brothers, Alston, Eugene, Cecil, Donald and William.

Friends may call 9 a.m. Wed. at Bowers Funeral Home, Island Falls until time to proceed to St. Agnes Catholic Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. with Fr.
