Michael Skonieczny

     CARIBOU — Michael Skonieczny, 89, well known area farmer and potato grower, passed away May 2, 2016. He was born in Bridgehampton, NY, October 1926, the son of the late Michael J. and Eva (Mezynieski) Skonieczny. He was a graduate of Bridgehampton High School and married Theresa Hodukavich, November 25, 1951. Michael was a self-employed farmer and seed grower, having farmed on the East Presque Isle Road for many years. He was a devoted member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and a former member of the Caribou Lions Club.

     Surviving in addition to his wife of over 64 years, Theresa, are his son, Stephen Skonieczny and Karen Kirchner of Caribou,  daughters and sons-in-law, Lorraine and Steven Wilson, Janis and Carl Gallagher all of Caribou, Karen and Jeffrey Perkins of Mapleton, a sister, Rea Falkowski of Bridgehampton, NY; six grandchildren, Carrie Ann Winslow, Chris Wilson, Michael and Nicholas Libby, Ryan and Kyle St. Peter; six great-grandchildren, Malacki and Kendzie Winslow, Landen and Lillianah Wilson, Arya and Arthur Libby; many beloved nieces and nephews. Mr. Skonieczny was predeceased by brothers, John and Jerry and sisters, Jean, Hattie, and Mary.  

     Friends called at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, from 6-8 p.m. Friday, a Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2016 from the Parish of the Precious Blood Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
