Troop F Report

HOULTON, Maine — The Maine State Police Troop F barracks responded to the following complaints from May 2-8, 2016.
Monday, May 2
Trooper Darcy arrested a 34-year-old Patten man for violation of conditions of release as the result of a traffic stop on I-95 in Smyrna. The man failed a drug test that was given to him at the barracks.
Trooper Endre was southbound on U.S. Route 1 in Monticello when he saw a green passenger car northbound without an inspection sticker. The trooper turned around to stop the vehicle and it immediately pulled off Route 1 onto a short side street, the road turns to a dead end less than 500 feet off of Route 1. The operator then stopped the vehicle, with no place left to go. The operator was a 22 year old male, his license status was revoked. Trooper Endre summonsed the operator for operating after revocation.
Tuesday, May 3
Trooper Luce investigated a vehicle theft in Wallagrass. A man called reporting a Ford Taurus had been stolen from his property. Upon investigation Trooper Luce learned that the complainant had three vehicles on the property and gave permission for a towing company to one of the vehicles for money that he owed. Tr. Luce looked into the towing company and learned that there was a misunderstanding and two vehicles were towed. The complainant was relieved to learn of the mix up and decided to let the towing company keep the second vehicle and had the money put towards his debt.
Wednesday, May 4
Trooper Saucier attempted to conduct a Drug Recognition Expert test on a subject for Houlton police, but the male was too impaired and was transported to the hospital for medical evaluation.
Tr. Sylvia and Merry were called to assist Millinocket PD with a bail check and the search yielded no illegal substances.
Thursday, May 5
Trooper Endre stopped a motor vehicle on Route 1 in Littleton for speeding. The operator of the vehicle was a 24-year-old male, who is on probation for trafficking. The operator has search and test as a condition of probation. Trooper Endre searched the vehicle and found a baggie of paraphernalia hidden in a void in the dash. Within the baggie were needles, a container with white residue in it, a spoon and what appeared to be a strip of suboxone. A urine test showed positive for methamphetamine and suboxone. Trooper Endre then interviewed the operator at the barracks about the items found. The operator admitted that the paraphernalia was his, and told the trooper that the strip was in fact suboxone. Probation Officer Blanchette put a probation hold on the operator and the subject was transported to the Aroostook County Jail. While at the jail, the operator was summonsed for possession of schedule W drug. Tr. Darcy and MDEA assisted with the traffic stop.
Friday, May 6
Trooper Endre stopped a motor vehicle on Route 1 in Caribou for travelling 80 m.p.h in a 55 m.p.h zone. The operator of the vehicle was a 21-year-old female with a small child in the back seat. The female’s license status was suspended. The operator was summonsed for operating after suspension as well as speeding.
Trooper Saucier, an inactive member of the Marines, spent the day Friday helping the Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots program with gearing up their food truck in Limestone for the Loring Timing Association races this past weekend. All foods / drinks are donated and all proceeds go to the Marine Corps Toys for Tots program. Job Corps students who either are going into the military or have an interest in the military also donated time to assist. The Young Marines led by retired Trooper Dan Deschaine ran the food truck this weekend at the races.
Trooper Darcy responded to a single vehicle crash in Masardis where the caller believed the man was impaired. The driver had fled the scene immediately after the crash. Trooper Levesque and police dog Vitz responded to the scene to conduct a track. The track went for over three miles and led to the mill in Masardis. At this point it has not been confirmed who the driver was but the person it is believed to be has a revoked license and is currently on bail. The investigation is ongoing. Ashland police assisted at the scene.
Saturday, May 7
Troopers Darcy and Bell, along with Sgt. Fuller responded to what was reported as a rolling domestic in Linneus. The caller was an off duty police officer who observed a male and female yelling at each other in a vehicle. The male and female pulled over at one point and switched places while driving. They also drove into a ditch at one point. Troopers located them on a dirt road in Haynesville. Investigation revealed it was a verbal argument only and no assaults had taken place. The male and female had both been drinking and driving. As a result, Trooper Darcy arrested the male party for felony operating under the influence, operating after suspension and violating conditions of release. The female was arrested for operating under the influence.
