Curran heads local Acadia FCU branch
ASHLAND — Acadia Federal Credit Union has announced that Tammy Curran has been promoted to the position of branch manager at their Ashland location. She transitioned into her new role on May 2.
Curran will supervise the overall branch operations and maintain credit union policies and procedures. She will be in charge of member development and oversee member and lending services, while also underwriting consumer loans.
“I am looking forward to helping grow the Ashland branch,” stated Curran. “I believe the transition will go over well from Teller to Branch Manager, as everyone here is very helpful with the learning and training process. Acadia has an amazing staff that I am proud to call my ‘work family’ and I look forward to many years of serving our members.”
Curran has been with Acadia for just over two years, having joined the team as a teller upon their expansion to Ashland in March of 2014. Prior to joining Acadia, Curran had four years of banking experience with another financial institution in Ashland.
“Tammy is a capable individual whose high-energy and enthusiasm for the member will further grow the Ashland branch,” said Luis Sanclemente, Acadia vice president. “It’s fantastic to be able to draw from the constantly-growing expertise of our team. Tammy will be great heading up Acadia’s Ashland branch.”
A 1990 graduate of Ashland Community High School, Curran attended Northern Maine Technical College from 1990-92, and then graduated from Pierre’s School of Cosmetology in 1994. For eight years, she was the owner-operator of a hair and tanning salon in New Jersey.
Curran currently resides in Portage with her beagle, Luci, and enjoys decorating, crafting, snowmobiling and hunting in her free time. She also keeps her hairdressing skills sharp by styling hair for a group of clients she refers to as her ‘old faithfuls.’
