PRESQUE ISLE – Derek Joseph Sam, 29, passed away May 10, 2016, at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. He was born June 8, 1986, in Methuen, MA, the son of Thomas Donovan and Pamela Sam. He worked as a farm laborer. Derek loved fishing and enjoyed nature.
He is survived by his mother, Pamela Sam of Presque Isle; a son, Thomas Joseph Sam of Caribou; two daughters, Cheyanne and Nevaeh of Caribou; three brothers, James of Charleston, Christopher of Presque Isle, and John of Houlton; a sister, Amanda Sam of Presque Isle; several nieces and nephews; and his companion, Heather Owens of Presque Isle.
