HPD Corner
As animal owners we all love our pets, and in no way do we want any harm to come to them.
As a dog owner, you are putting your pet in harm’s way when you allow your dog to ride on the back of a pickup truck, or in any vehicle that is not enclosed.
Did you know that you leave yourself open to a motor vehicle stop, and to receive a court summons under the State of Maine code, title 29A-2087 (transporting a dog in an open vehicle regulated)?
Did you also know that when off your property, you — the owner of the dog — must immediately remove and lawfully dispose of any feces left by your dog on any street, sidewalk, public owned property or private property of another (Town Ordinance Article II, Control of Dogs: Sec. 3-202 sub-3)?
