“As we mark the end of our first three years of providing MST-PSB we want to thank all those who have supported us and in particular we want to recognize Kelly for her support of the team and program,” said Peter McCorrison of AMHC. “Kelly has kept us going in the Houlton area with her referrals as well as positive acknowledgement of the program at every opportunity. With Kelly we have been successful in helping to support youth to remain at home and in school.”
AMHC has been providing Multi Systemic Therapy/Problem Sexual Behavior since 2013 with support of the Maine Department of Corrections and MST Associates.
According to McCorrison, Multi Systemic Therapy/Problem Sexual Behavior is a highly intensive in home service that works with youth that are at high risk of school failure, residential placement or incarceration. The team works with families of youth between the ages of 12-17.5 and for PSB youth between the ages of 10 -17.5. The treatment time is short term between three to five for MST and five to seven months for MST-PSB.
“MST is an evidenced based treatment with high fidelity to the model through consultation with MST Associates in which the team engages weekly,” McCorrison said. “We are held to intensive quality assurance measures with MST Associates which we have been successful in achieving over the first three years of providing MST-PSB in the County.
