The Houlton Council of Catholic Women met at the Parish Center at 6 p.m. on May 1 for their monthly meeting.
Opening prayers were recited, followed by refreshments provided by the May committee.
President Sue Hardy conducted the meeting. Recording Secretary Tammy Blanchette read the minutes from the April meeting. Treasurer Mary Grant read the treasurer’s report. Corresponding Secretary Alta Reardon read a thank you from the Pregnancy Care Center for the gifts that were given to them by the council.
Ether Mersereau reported her findings regarding the upcoming banquet. Members decided to hold their end-of-the-year banquet at Shelley’s Cafe on Market Square on Monday, June 6, at 6 p.m.
Alta Reardon delivered the baby shower gifts to the Pregnancy Care Center and they were very grateful to receive them.
President Sue Hardy would like to meet with people sometime during the summer to discuss the fall rummage sale. She also gave a brief summary of Parish Council business. The Seminarian basket was passed.
Prayers were gathered and a decade of the Rosary was recited. The door prize was won by Judy O’Mara. The meeting adjourned.
The next meeting will be the June banquet.
