SUSSEX, N.B. — Victoria Rowe, former Houlton resident, was named Delta Epsilon Chi Scholar at the 71st commencement of Kingswood University in Sussex.
Rowe is the daughter of David and Vicki Rowe, formerly of Houlton. David Rowe was the youth pastor at Houlton Wesleyan Church for over 17 years until last year, when he became the assistant pastor of Crosspoint Wesleyan Church in Fredericton, N.B.
Graduating with magna cum laude academic honors, Rowe earned the bachelor of arts in ministry degree. She was also awarded membership in Delta Epsilon Chi, an honor society of the Florida-based Association for Biblical Higher Education. The society’s membership consists of scholars who excel academically and exhibit Christian character and leadership ability.
During her university studies, Rowe distinguished herself as a leader on campus by serving on Student Council, working as a resident assistant in the dorm, and leading one of the university’s music bands that ministered primarily to youth as the group traveled to churches, camps and conventions throughout Canada and the United States.
This past semester Rowe worked as an intern with the award-winning Christian songwriter and worship leader, Jennie Lee Riddle, and The Emerging Sound, Riddle’s songwriting music camp in Dallas. Riddle is well known for her “Revelation Song” that was first made popular by Kari Jobe and carried to number one by Phillips, Craig and Dean.
Rowe’s work with Riddle and The Emerging Sound successfully met the supervised ministry requirement for her degree.
