Paula R. Selden

     FRIENDSHIP — Paula R. Selden, 78, of 24 Penna. Ave. passed away Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, NY. Born April 16, 1938 in Washburn, ME, she was the daughter of Merle and Glenna Stoddard Deeves. In 1956 in Colby Siding, ME, she married Dale C. Peterson who predeceased her and on October 19, 2008 in Colby Siding, ME, she married Robert E. Selden who survives.

     Paula had grown up and resided in Washburn, ME. She attended High School there and later graduated from Northern Maine Vocational School as a Licensed Practical Nurse. For 40 years she was an LPN at the Caribou, Maine Cary Medical Center, retiring in 2008.

     Paula enjoyed baking, shopping, sleepovers with grandkids, and traveling. She was a very caring person, always ready to help where she was needed. Her special love was her family and friends, spending time and ready to lend a helping hand for whatever the need.

     Surviving besides her husband, Robert are two sons, Randy D. Peterson, Neustadt, Germany, Gary D. Peterson, Palmyra, VA; three daughters,

     Kim M. (Donald) Smith, Palmyra, VA, Lisa R. Chandonett, Dover, DE, Jayne C. Walton, Spring, TX; 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; four step-sons, Richard L. (Sandra) Selden, Des Moines, IA, Edward R. (Susan) Selden, Aiken, SC, David A. Selden, Charlottesville, VA, Paul R. Selden, Allegany, NY; a step- daughter, Carol J. Selden, Allegany, NY; 14 step- grandchildren and six step-great- grandchildren; three brothers, Deke (Sharon) Deeves, Augusta, ME, Robert (Diane) Deeves, Hamlin, ME, Victor (Claudette) Deeves, Presque Isle, ME; two sisters, Earlyne Lamoreau, Presque Isle, Wanda (Chuck) Bigelow, Tolland, CT; several nieces and nephews; predeceased by: a brother, Darrell Deeves; two sisters, Janice Malm and Sharon Kristner; a grandson,  Garrett Peterson.

     Friends called  the Treusdell Funeral Home, Friendship, 2-4 pm Sunday, May 29, 2016. Immediately following visitations a memorial funeral service will be held at the funeral home. The Rev. Timothy Gleason, Pastor of the Friendship United Methodist Church will officiate and burial will be in New Sweden, Maine Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 4955 N.
