Desjardins becomes state board secretary

FORT KENTDavid Desjardins, president/CEO of Acadia Federal Credit Union of Fort Kent, with branches in Ashland, Madawaska, St. Agatha and St. Francis, was recently elected secretary of the Maine Credit Union League Board.

Officers were elected at the conclusion of the Maine CU League’s 78th annual meeting, held May 20 in Portland. 
Along with Desjardins, elected unanimously to one-year terms were Richard Lachance, president/CEO of Connected CU, chair; Kyle Casburn, president/CEO of Seaboard FCU, vice chair; and Scott Chretien, president/CEO of York County FCU, treasurer.
Desjardins, who served as treasurer of the board for the past year, said he looks forward to continuing to be in a leadership role to facilitate the continued growth of Maine’s credit unions.
“We have a strong board that works hard to provide leadership and vision to help Maine credit unions to best serve their members,” he said. “I am excited to serve in the Vice Chairman role in the year ahead.”
Formed in 1938, the Maine Credit Union League is the state trade association for Maine’s 59 credit unions and more than 667,000 members, providing a variety of services and products to assist credit unions in meeting the needs of their membership.
