CAHS unveils Class of 2016 honor parts
MARS HILL, Maine — Officials at Central Aroostook Junior-Senior High School of Mars Hill have announced the honor parts for the class of 2016.
The valedictorian is Victoria Brewer and the salutatorian is Noelle Bailey. The first honor essayist is Molly Anthony and the second honor essayist is Karli Levesque.
All four have been recognized recently as six-year honorees, which means they have achieved the honor roll at Central Aroostook for 23 consecutive quarters.
Brewer is the daughter of George and Terri Brewer of Mars Hill. She has participated in the Spanish club, math team, Youth in Government and National Honor Society, and has also been part of the CAHS state champion cheerleading squad.
She has earned academic awards and been named student of the month. Brewer has volunteered at the Kicking Bear camp, Crime Stoppers Golf Tournament and the Wounded Warrior Project. Next year she will attend Emmanuel College in Boston to study pre-med.
Bailey is the daughter of Kelly Robichaud of Mars Hill and Alan Bailey Jr. of Georgia. She has participated in Youth in Government, on the math team and in National Honor Society, and was part of the CAHS state champion cheerleading squad. She was crowned Miss Mars Hill this year as well.
She has earned academic awards and been a student of the month. In addition, Bailey has done many community service projects while in high school, including field days at Fort Street Elementary school, Toys for Tots and Walks for Wishes. She will attend the University of Georgia, studying to be a physician assistant.
Anthony is the daughter of William and Susan Anthony of Bridgewater. She has participated in varsity soccer, basketball and volleyball. She has also been involved in math team and Spanish club, and has earned student of the month honors as well as many academic awards.
She has participated in service to her community by working as a student aide and volunteering at the local animal shelter. She will attend the University of Maine at Fort Kent to study nursing.
Levesque is the daughter of Joe and Heidi Levesque of Mars Hill. She has participated in many activities at Central Aroostook including the varsity basketball team, varsity soccer team and varsity softball team. She is a member of the National Honor Society and the math team, and has earned academic achievement awards been a student of the month.
She has volunteered at the Wilderness Day Camp, has worked at the junior high soccer tournaments and has been a teacher’s aide. She plans to attend Husson University in Bangor to pursue her degree in pharmacy.
The class of 2016 will graduate on June 10, 2016, with commencement exercises being held in the CAHS gymnasium at 7 p.m.
