PI woman with Crimson Tide
for softball championships
Laurin Ackerson, a junior at the University of Alabama, left Tuesday for Oklahoma City for the NCAA Championships for women’s softball.
Ackerson has served as one of the student athletic trainers for the No. 6-ranked Crimson Tide this spring and her team qualified for the Women’s College World Series. The first-round game is Thursday against the third-seeded University of Oklahoma. The game will be played at 7 p.m. and is being televised on ESPN2.
She is a 2013 graduate of Presque Isle High School and is the daughter of Jim and Debbie Ackerson of Presque Isle.
