Road will not be cleared of snow for 10 years
CARIBOU, Maine — City Council voted to close Cedar Hill Lane, a road approximately .10 miles long, for ten years.
Cedar Hill Lane was one of four roads discussed during last meeting’s public hearing, but was not closed at that time since the owner of a camp on the road was not notified. Other roads closed during the previous meeting include Brissette Road, McGraw Siding Road, and Kelly Road.
City Manager Austin Bleess informed Council that he had contacted the owner of the camp on Cedar Hill, and they agreed to the Winter closure.
“After our conversation they left without objecting to the closing of the road to winter maintenance,” said Bleess.
The Order of Closing stated that the road will not be maintained or open for travel during the months of “November, December, January, February, and April.”
