HOULTON — Elizabeth Sally Reed, wife of Floyd Reed, Sr., went to Heaven on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at home with her family by her side. She was born November 3, 1934 in Littleton, the daughter of Ray and Maxine (McCarthy) Henderson.
Sally was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was past Noble Grand Portia Rebekah Lodge #78. Sally was employed at the Madigan Memorial Hospital from 1955 to 1973 when she retired. She went to work for SAD #29 in the cafeteria in the fall of 1973 and retired in 1997. Sally lived for her family and her Lord.
Sally is survived by her husband of 61 years, Floyd Reed, Sr.; two daughters, Ann Merritt and her friend Kenneth Reeves and Marsha Reed; her son, Floyd “Jay” Reed, Jr.; two grandsons, Ryan Merritt and his wife Melissa, their children Emma, Noah, Brodie and Reed, and Travis Merritt and his friend Penny Moffitt, children Ethan, Gabriel and Gabreil Ramos; one sister-in-law, Jean Henderson; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, her brother Eugene Henderson, her sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Huey Tuttle.
Friends may call at the First Baptist Church at noon Monday, June 20, 2016 until the time of the service at 1 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Dennis Ashley officiating. A time of fellowship will be held at the church following the service.
