WHITE, Maurice “Spanky”, 80, Easton, at Presque Isle, June 9, 2016. Burial will be held at 11 a.m., June 13, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Presque Isle. Arrangements are in the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home.

American Flag ColorSH MauriceWhiteOBSH MauriceWhiteOB2CASTLE HILL – Maurice “Spanky” White, LTC, U.S. Army retired, age 80, died peacefully in his sleep June 9, 2016, at Houlton Regional Hospital. Spanky was born July 23, 1935, in Presque Isle. 

Spanky proudly served our nation for 23 years in the U.S. Army. He also was a MSAD#1 educator for 27 years. He was active in his community as a member of the Mapleton Lions Club and V.F.W. 6187 of Fort Fairfield. 

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Sylvia of 59 years; his sister, Linda White of Chapman; daughters, Parise Carney of Herman, Marchelle White of Brunswick, Denise (Wayne) Smith of Weston, ME, Francine (Bob) Sabisch of Hubert, North Carolina; son, John (Virginia) White of Bradford, ME; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, John L. and Mary M. (Bellefleur) White; and his sister Maureen Burdette.

Visitation will be held 9-11 a.m., June 13, 2016, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Presque Isle where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Interment with Military Honors will follow the service at the Caribou Veterans Cemetery.
