HOULTON, Maine — On June 14, 2016 the Houlton Lodge of Elks No. 835 held its annual Flag Day Ceremony, led by Exalted Ruler Wendell Hersey.
Assisting with the program were fellow officers Esteemed Leading Knight Matt Crandall; Esteemed Loyal Knight Ian Crane; and Esteemed Lecturing Knight Mike Hannigan.
Trustee, Dennis Harmon, read “The American Flag,” by Joseph Rodman Drake. Trustee, Russell Fitzpatrick, PER, led those attending in the song “God Bless America” and member Jerry Riley performed “Taps.”
Once the flag was raised those attending the ceremony joined in reciting The Pledge of Allegiance.
