OAKFIELD — William J. Lawlor Jr., 80, died Monday June 13, 2016 with his family by his side at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bangor. He was born February 4, 1936 in Oakfield, the son of William Sr. and Merle (Sherman) Lawlor.
William was a life long resident of Oakfield. He graduated from Oakfield High School and was a successful dairy farmer, receiving multiple awards including the Maine Dairy Farmer of the Year in 1992. William retired from farming in 2000. He was a member of the Smoki-Haulers Snowsled Club and loyal Red Sox fan.
He is survived by his wife of 57 loving years; Harriet (Pelletier) Lawlor of Oakfield; his children; Mark and his wife, Lori, Jane and her husband, Steven, Beth and her husband, Thomas, David and his wife, Lisa, Peter, Suzann, Trevor and his wife, Robin, Seth and his wife, Melissa; grandchildren Chris, Clay, Jacob, Bradley, Madylin, Jenny, Madison, Paige, Kaelyn, Cooper, Chloe, Mallary and Hunter; great- grandchildren Peyton, Kason, Wyatt, Abigail, Evan, Colton, Kendal, Thatcher and Ashton; a brother Kenneth Lawlor and wife, Belen, of CA; sister Kathleen Boutilier of Oakfield. He was predeceased by his parents; sisters, Theodate (Lawlor) Swallow and Jeanette (Lawlor) Harvey; brother, Gene; brother-in-law, Everett Boutilier and great- grandson, Turner William Lawlor.
A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 16 at the Oakfield Cemetery with Rev. David Fox officiating. His friends and family are welcome to the family home for a time of fellowship,. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in William’s memory to the charity of your choice.
