Science center show to feature look at Mars

On Friday, June 24, 2016 at 8 p.m., the Francis Malcolm Science Center welcomes the public to “march to Mars” with a grand look at the mysterious “Red Planet.”

First, they’ll feature a splendid survey of our nearby neighbor within the planetarium theater. Weather permitting, then return outside to gaze with their community telescope team. Bring your own instrument and join the fun as we look up at the solar system: Jupiter, Saturn, and of course Mars. Planetarium Director Larry Berz will host your hop to the new frontier. Families are welcome, but seating is limited. Call for reservations and pricing at (207) 488-5451.

Happy Days Club update

The Happy Days Senior Citizens’ Club traveled to the science center on Thursday, June 9, with 11 members and guests attending. Following a brief presentation in the planetarium, eight members and guests enjoyed lunch at Boondocks Grille in Fort Fairfield and a stop at the Amish store at Easton Center on the way home. The next meeting will be a potluck lunch at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 23 in the recreation room at the Manor. All seniors are welcome and are encouraged to bring a friend.

Elementary students
perform musical

The Easton Elementary School grades 1-8 students performed “Twinderella – The Musical” on Friday, May 20. In the story, Cinderella has a long lost twin brother named Bob living in the same kingdom with his own wicked stepfamily. This hilarious musical kept the audience entertained and on the edge of their seats. First-year director Theresa Bonner guided the students in this year’s elementary play. It was a great evening for all who were lucky enough to attend.
