Ashland driver goes off road after speeding
PORTAGE LAKE, Maine — An Ashland teenager escaped major injuries after almost hitting a tractor trailer in Portage Lake Sunday evening.
Mark Chasse, 19, of Ashland, went off of paved road on West Road after speeding and encountering a tractor trailer driving over the centerline, according to Maine State Trooper Travis Luce, who responded to the crash around 5:20 p.m. Sunday.
Chasse, who driving a 2007 Pontiac car and not wearing a seat belt, skidded across the road and landed in a ditch. He hit his head on the windshield, but was not taken to a hospital, Luce said in media release.
Chasse was issued a speeding ticket, and the truck was not impacted.
