Community pulled together for park
To the editor:
In regard to the recent criminal events at Mantle Lake Park, it is unbelievable that such destruction should occur to this lovely, well-maintained, popular park for families in Presque Isle.
It cannot be brushed aside as “you know how kids are” … not any kids I know would destroy public property. Justice demands that those responsible help with the cleanup and maintenance of the park.
Thanks go to the many volunteers who quickly saw the need and who cleaned up the worst of the vile messages, so that Sunday would not be ruined for families bringing their children to the park. Accolades to the businesses who have replaced the major appliances that were criminally destroyed.
