WASHBURN – David Wayne Privette, 61, passed away June 20, 2016 at his Washburn residence following a brief illness.

He was born in Houston, TX, August 31, 1954 the son of Floyd and JoAnn (Payne) Privette. Mr. Privette served with the US Air Force and received his Associates Degree in Computer Electronics from Northern Maine Community College. He married Cindy Prestwood August 26, 1977 and was employed as a Bio-Med Technician at The Aroostook Medical Center of over 35 years.
David was a longtime faithful member of the Perham Baptist Church, where he was a past trustee, served as a church deacon, sang in the church choir as well as the Fishers of Men Quartet, and was a Sunday School teacher and youth leader. He also played trumpet in the UMPI Band for a number of years. David loved spending time with his family, whether on the water kayaking or in the back yard for a family get together and bar-b que where he loved to cook his famous brisket with his homemade bar-b-que-sauce.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Cindy of Washburn and his mother, JoAnn of Houston, TX, are his children Ryan Privette of Austin, TX. and Sarah Privette of Houston , TX. Two brothers; Floyd Robert Privette of Tomball, TX, and Mark Privette of Houston, TX. Several nieces and nephews. Mr. Privette was predeceased by his father.
Services were held 2:00 p.m. Sunday June 26, 2016 from the Perham Baptist Church with Rev. David Goupille, officiating. Arrangements by the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou. www.mocklerfuneralhome.com.
