Stanley Kenneth Sutherland

     American Flag ColorStanley Kenneth Sutherland, 92, died May 6, 2016 at Middlesex Hospital, Middletown, CT. 

     He was born Jan. 9, 1924 in Woodland, Maine, son of Adelbert and Marie (Hardacker) Sutherland. Stanley was the brother of the late Hayden Sutherland, Gretchen Gallant, Margaret Turner, Marjorie Giggi, Esther Page and Roland Sutherland and the brother of the surviving Jean Gardner, Willis Sutherland, Russell Sutherland, Betty Branscom, Judi Greenier. 

     He is also survived by his three daughters and their spouses, Jill Sutherland, Janet and Kemal Danisman, Shelley and Fred Bailey; and their mother, Marina Sutherland; plus two grandchildren Victoria and Frederick Bailey; and many nieces and nephews. Stanley went to school in Caribou and afterwards served in World War II stationed in Europe, 

     Stanley lived most of his adult life in Connecticut. On May 13th, 2016 he was honored with a Veteran’s ceremony graveside at the Veterans’ Cemetery in Middletown CT.
