Tompkins gets Central Aroostook AD position
Fort Fairfield and Washburn looking for coaches
Cody Tompkins has been named athletic director at Central Aroostook Junior-Senior High School.
Cody Tompkins, who also coaches the Panthers’ boys soccer and girls basketball teams, replaces Ty Thurlow, who has accepted an administrative position at Sumner High School in East Sullivan. Fort Fairfield High School has numerous coaching vacancies to fill. The school is looking for a girls’ varsity soccer coach following the resignation of Tom Towle, who held the position the past two seasons. His teams reached the Class D semifinals each of the past two years.
Paul Lamoreau, who retired from teaching at the end of the school year, is leaving his post as coach of the Tigers’ cross country ski team. He had been involved in the program for 25 years.
Cheering coach Rachel Emery has stepped down. She led the Tigers’ into the Class D state championships last winter.
The varsity softball job is also open. Tim Watt, who serves as the athletic administrator at Fort Fairfield Middle High School, coached the Tiger girls this past spring on an interim basis.
Basketball coaching positions for the Washburn varsity teams have yet to be filled following the resignations of both boys’ varsity coach Randy Norsworthy and girls’ varsity coach Diana Trams this past spring.
