Easton High graduates eleven

Eleven seniors were awarded diplomas at the Easton Jr/Sr High School Graduation during commencement exercises on Friday, June 10 at 6 p.m.
Senior Class President Drew Sotomayor gave the welcome. The Second Honor Essay was delivered by Drew Sotomayor. The First Honor Essay was delivered by Blake Bradley. Logan Halvorson delivered the Salutatory Address and Emma Bonner delivered the Valedictorian address.

The Jazz Choir, under the direction of Pamela Kinsey, presented musical selections.
Parents of the students earning Honor Parts, were invited to join their children on stage to receive the following awards; Second Honor Essayist Drew Sotomayor, First Honor Essayist Blake Bradley, Salutatorian Logan Halvorson and Valedictorian Emma Bonner.
Scholarships totaling $453,550 were awarded to Easton Jr/Sr High School Seniors.
The Class of 2016 presented a slide show, “Now and Then” and “Future Plans”.
Superintendent Roger Shaw, Principal Cameron Adams and School Board Chairman Gaylen Flewelling presented diplomas to Easton High School’s Class of 2016.

Baccalaureate

The local clergy conducted baccalaureate services at Easton Jr/Sr High School on Sunday, June 5 at 6 p.m.
Participating pastors were Pastor Tony Stevens from the Easton Wesleyan Church, Pastor Granville Lamb with the New Song Church, Pastor Carlos DaCruz from the Pine Tree Baptist Church, Pastor Merritt Durost of the Easton Pentecostal Church and the Very Reverend Jean-Paul Labrie of the Parish of the Precious Blood.
Pastor Carlos DaCruz gave the Baccalaureate address.

Class Night

Class Night was held at Easton Jr/Sr High School on Wednesday, June 8 at 7 p.m.
Senior Marshals Blake Bradley and Macey Currier escorted all four classes into the gymnasium. Accompanist Pamela Kinsey provided the “Pomp and Circumstance.”
Class President remarks were made by Isaac Currier (Class of 2019), Delia Bonner (Class of ‘18), and Jacob Flewelling (Class of ‘17).
Seniors Macey Currier, Bailee Getchell and Jason Gurley gave Class Gifts. Bailee Getchell and Trevor Hathaway presented the Class History.
The faculty made presentations to students who achieved the highest level of proficiency across the curriculum. Pamela Kinsey presented All-Aroostook Awards for Chorus to Cecelia Ferris, Paige Flewelling, Katelyn White and Brandon Hosford. Isabelle Morin, Katelyn White, Cecelia Ferris and Brandon Hosford received the All-Aroostook Band Award. The State Jazz Choir Solo Certificate was presented to Cecelia Ferris, Katelyn White, Isabelle Morin, Breann Clayton, Paige Flewelling and Ryan West. The All-State Treble Choir award was presented to Isabelle Morin. A first-year letter with lyre pin was presented to Emma Bonner, Cecelia Ferris, Paige Flewelling, Isabelle Morin and Katelyn White. A second-year treble clef pin was presented to Brandon Hosford. The Chorus Award was presented to Brandon Hosford while The Band Award went to Emma Bonner. The Jazz Choir Award was presented to Isabelle Morin.
Polly Tateishi presented the Grade 9 Writing award to Olivia Lamoreau and 11/12 English to Ethan Luciano.
Darren West presented Social Studies Awards to Breann Clayton for College U.S. History II, Miranda McLean for Tech Prep U.S. History II, Miranda McLean for Psychology, Joseph Anderson for World History, Katelyn White for College U.S. History I and Elise Allen for 21st Century Issues. Online Learning awards were presented to Connor Bragg, Jenna Perkins and Keagan Kinney.
West also recognized the following members of the Student Council with certificates: Jacob Flewelling (president), Drew Sotomayor (vice president), Abigail Currier (secretary), Delia Bonner (treasurer), Blake Bradley, Logan Halvorson, Hunter Brown, Noah Hanscomb, Collin Sotomayor, Gavin Pangburn, Carson Flewelling and Elijah Tarbox. He also presented the May Student of the Month Award to Abigail Currier.
Paul Sutherland presented Math Awards to Hunter Dudley for Algebra I, Collin Sotomayor for Geometry, Katelyn White for Algebra II, Hunter Brown for Advanced Math, Emma Bonner for Physics and Jacob Flewelling for Math Team.
Jane Hutchison presented the Art Awards. The Art I award was presented to Abigail Currier. The Art II award went to Logan Halvorson.
Bryan Wright presented the following Science Awards: Earth Science to Hunter Dudley, Tech Prep Chemistry to Zachary Hammond and College Chemistry to Emma Bonner.
Julio Morin awarded pins to the following Spanish students; Spanish I, Emily Thompson; Spanish II (Period 2), Bailee Getchell; Spanish II (Period 6), Katelyn White; Spanish III, Jacob Flewelling; and Spanish IV, Emma Bonner.
Bryan Shaw presented Physical Education – “All Around Athlete Awards” to freshmen Olivia Lamoreau and Hunter Dudley, and sophomores Isabelle Morin and Joshua Peers. The Health Award was presented to Emily Thompson. The Lifetime Sports Awards were presented to Emma Bonner and Drew Sotomayor. Presidential Fitness Awards were presented to Isaac Currier and Gavin Pangburn. National Fitness Awards went to Delaney Leach and Carson Flewelling.
Melissa Smith presented the English I award to Emily Thompson and English II to Katelyn White. The Grade 11 American Literature award went to Abigail Currier and the Grade 12 American Literature award went to Emma Bonner.
Pamela Murchison presented the Business Education Awards to Blake Bradley for Desktop Publishing and to Bailee Getchell for Personal Finance. Accounting I was presented to Brianna Landeen. The Excel Award went to Dustin LaCroix. Blake Bradley received the Yearbook Editor Award and Noah Hanscomb was the recipient of the Award for Economics.
Ellen Trask presented the College Biology award to Katelyn White. Blake Bradley the recipient of the Environmental Studies Award and Jacob Guerrette received the Tech Prep Biology Award. Envirothon Team 1 members were Blake Bradley, Zachary Hammond, Jason Gurley, Macey Currier, Ethan Luciano, Kathleen Haney and Michael Brown. Envirothon Team 2 members who placed first in the State Current Issue were Ryan West, Summer Guess, Cecelia Ferris, Connor Bragg and Delia Bonner.
Principal Cameron Adams presented the Maine Principals’ Award to Emma Bonner. The Phi Beta Kappa Maine Academic Achievement Award went to Breann Clayton. The Willis A. McPherson Award was presented to Bailee Getchell and Emma Bonner received the Outstanding School Citizen Award.
