Historical Society plans barn sale

WASHBURN NEWS

The Salmon Brook Historical Society will hold a huge garage sale on Friday, July 15, from 12-4 p.m. and on Saturday, July 16, 2016, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. in the barn at the Wilder museum in Washburn.

Many items are from the Leo and Lila Flewelling Estate. They would also be happy to accept other items, except clothing, for this fundraiser from citizens in the surrounding areas. Proceeds from this event will go toward keeping the museum open to all.
The society is also planning its annual Quilt Show and Tea, which will be held Aug. 7. Again, there are three sessions: 12:30, 1:45 and 3 p.m.
For reservations, call Wanita Hallowell at 540-1154 or Rita Kingsburg at 429-9359. The tickets are $10.00 and customers pay when booking a reservation. Last year there were 120 quilts and organizers expect as many again this year.
All are welcome to come and enjoy a wonderful Sunday afternoon at the museums.
The Salmon Brook Museum is now open on Thursdays from 9—11 a.m. and Sundays from 1-4 p.m. Class and family reunions are welcome. To schedule a private tour please call 549-1154.
