MARS HILL NEWS
The Mars Hill Rotary Club met June 28, 2016 at the Aroostook Health Center.
The 2016-2017 slate of officers was inducted by Assistant District Governor Floyd Rockholt. They include Tori Barber, membership chair; Kathy Miller, secretary; Dave Cyr, president; Larry Fletcher, vice president; Rena Kearney, treasurer; Richard Watson, past president; Ed Wright, foundation chair and director; Bernie McAdam, director; and Jim Shaw, director.
District Governor Ginny Joles inducted Mike Blevins as a new member of the club.
The guest speaker was Dawn Matthews, new principal at Fort Street Elementary School. She lives in Littleton with her husband and enjoys gardening, reading and cooking. She said that fortunately, her husband likes to eat! Matthews has worked at various jobs in Houlton and Danforth schools and is looking forward to working with K-6 students. She enjoys the younger students, saying they tend to be sponges when they learn.
