HOULTON, Maine — The Houlton Police Department responded to the following incidents from July 3-9.

 

Sunday, July 3

3:00 a.m. — Off. Smith responded to Sugarloaf Street to investigate a disturbance.

1:19 p.m. — Off. Quint responded to Monument Park for a welfare check.

1:37 p.m. — Off. Boutilier responded to Mechanic Street to investigate a disturbance.

3:50 p.m. — Off. Boutilier responded to Court Street to investigate a complaint.

6:41 p.m. — Sgt. Wampler responded to Military Street for a civil dispute.

6:57 p.m. — Off. Smith responded to Callaghan Road to arrest a 37-year-old Houlton male, Patrick McAfee, for operating under the influence, operating while license suspended or revoked, violating condition of release and possession of drug paraphernalia.

8:00 p.m. — Off. McGuire responded to School Street to investigate a disturbance.

10:19 p.m. — Off. Smith responded to Kelleran Street to investigate a complaint.

10:44 p.m. — Sgt. Wampler responded to Main Street to investigate a burglary.

 

Monday, July 4

4:04 a.m. — Off. Smith responded to Highland Avenue to investigate suspicious activity.

8:04 a.m. — Off. York responded to North Street to investigate a burglar alarm.

8:38 a.m. — Off. York responded to Customs Loop to arrest a 36-year-old Everett, Mass., male, Charles Rolls, for possessing marijuana and sale and use of drug paraphernalia.

2:44 p.m. — Off. Cyr responded to North Street for a welfare check.

4:28 p.m. — Off. York responded to Broadway to investigate a complaint.

4:51 p.m. — Off. York responded to Court Street to investigate suspicious activity.

8:16 p.m. — Off. Boutilier responded to Randall Avenue to summons a 19-year-old Houlton male for assault.

9:07 p.m. — Off. Janakis responded to Bird Street to investigate a burglary.

We as drivers face many problems, as we are constantly vigilant to drive safe, and be safe. One thing we don’t practice or prepare for is sun blindness.

As we drive we sometimes face the sun, causing us all to either take our eyes off the road or lose our sight momentarily. At certain times of the day we encounter this situation.
