Graves records victory in annual Musterd Mile
CARIBOU, Maine — Forty eight runners laced up their sneakers Friday for the annual Musterd Mile, which began at Caribou High School and ended one mile later at Monica’s Scandinavian Gift Shop.
The fourth leg of the County Challenge Racing Series saw Evan Graves of Caribou top the field with a time of 4 minutes and 39 seconds.
Joey Bard was the runner-up in 4:48.1, followed by Evan Desmond in 4:49.6.
The rest of the top 10 included, in order, fourth, Chathu Karunasiri and Mitchell St. Peter, both at 4:53.4; sixth, Bradley Burlock, 4:56.4; seventh, Joshua Kovach, 4:59.7; eighth, Chris Rines, 5:19; ninth, Cole Winslow, 5:22.7; and 10th, Bryce Coffin, 5:22.9.
The fastest female was Teagan Ewings, whose time of 5:51.5 placed her 18th in the overall standings. Teanne Ewings was next in 6:09.4 and Angela Ewings was the third-fastest female in 6:10.7. They were 24th and 25th overall, respectively.
The next Challenge Series event is Saturday’s Potato Blossom 5-Miler in Fort Fairfield. Walkers begin at 8:30 a.m. and runners at 9 a.m. from Hillside IGA.
