Sports dominate remaining Potato Blossom schedule
FORT FAIRFIELD, Maine — A few sporting events have already been held and more are approaching as the 69th Maine Potato Blossom Festival continues.
A swim meet and a 3-on-3 basketball tourney took place earlier this week, but events slated for later this week include a junior girls softball tournament at the Fort Fairfield Middle High School Sports Complex Thursday, a three-person scramble golf tourney at Aroostook Valley Country Club Saturday, a five-mile road race at 8:30 a.m. for walkers and 9 a.m. for runners Saturday, the 25-mile Spud Cycle Classic bicycle race and tour at 10 a.m. on Sunday and the Floatilla of Fun on the Aroostook at 2 p.m., also on Sunday.
