ISLAND FALLS, Maine — As they say in Maine, “if you don’t like the weather. ..wait a minute.” That was the case this past weekend. But our die-hard golfers suited up and made the best of the cool, rainy conditions. This week’s forecast looks amazing, so we hope to see you!
Due to scheduling conflicts, the date of our 51st Anniversary 18-hole Field Day will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 10 a.m. This is an individual stroke play event using 100 percent of a player’s handicap. Cash prizes are awarded for both Net and Gross Winners 4 Divisions: Men’s A, B, C and Women’s.
The cost for golf and dinner is only $20 per member or $30 for non-member (cart not included). After the round, enjoy the outdoor chicken barbecue with baked potato, coleslaw, rolls and gingerbread! Please call or sign up at the Pro Shop by Wednesday, July 13.
Due to inclement weather, Pairs and Spares golfers did not meet on Sunday. Pairs and Spares golfers meet on Sundays at 3 p.m. There is a $2.50 entry fee per person. Come join us!
Twilight League is underway. First pace in the American League is the team of Warren Walker/Billy Dwyer. 2nd place is Stuart Kelley/Jon Smallwood and 3rd is Steve Walker/Parker Walker. In the National League Peter Blood/Greg Gayne are still dominating the field. Tied for 2nd are the teams of Ralph Powers/Ted Pettengill and Brent Kelley/Tom Daggett. Junior Golf started on Tuesday, July 5. The times are 9 a.m for grades 1-5 and 9:45 a.m. for Grades 6-12. There is no fee for this clinic. You may still register for this clinic!
