KEARNEY, Kevin Hume, 49, Fort Fairfield and Mars Hill, July 12, 2016. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, July 18, at the Funeral Home. Arrangements are in the care of Duncan Funeral Home.
FORT FAIRFIELD & MARS HILL – Kevin Hume Kearney, 49, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2016. He was born on August 3, 1966, in Presque Isle, the son of James Kearney and Sue (Pierce) Dearborn.
He was employed for 30 years at Huber Engineered Woods, where he held many positions, being eventually promoted to procurement manager. He was a member of Mars Hill Snowmobile Club. He had many hobbies from collecting and shining vintage snowmobiles, minibikes, tractors, lawnmowers and cars. He was also an avid racer of dirt bikes and snowmobiles and shared that love of racing with his nephew, Caleb Jewett. One of the loves of his life was skiing at Bigrock Ski Area, a family business that he took great pride in. He was also a great drum player.
In addition to his parents, Kevin is survived by his longtime companion and best friend, Janelle Cote and their son, Seth Cote; mother-in-law, Virginia Cote; a sister, Janice Jewett and her husband, Bev; a brother, Travis Kearney and his wife, Michele; a sister, Marina Brakeman and her husband, Shane; a brother-in-law, Shawn Cote and his wife Kim; one niece, Samantha Kearney; four nephews, Caleb Jewett and his friend, Erin Sullivan, Luke Kearney, and Austin and Blake Brakeman; and one great-nephew, Oliver Jewett.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Marie and Wendell Pierce, and James and Louise Kearney.
Friends and family called at noon, Monday, July 18, 2016, at Duncan Funeral Home, 8 Main St., Mars Hill, where funeral services were held at 2 p.m., with Pastor Lawrence Beals officiating. Interment was held at Kings Grove Cemetery, Mars Hill, following the service. A reception was held at Wendell Pierce residence in Blaine.
