City website sees improvements
Processes now easier for residents
IN THE CITY
The City of Presque Isle’s website has recently been updated making certain things easier for residents.
If you are interested in following the City Council meetings and have Time Warner Cable, you can still watch the City Council meetings live by watching on the public access channel. And now, with the changes to the website, anyone with an Internet connection can see the meetings streamed live from the City’s website.
Simply go to www.presqueislemaine.gov. On the home page, you will see a photo at the top. In the blue box to the right of the photo, you will notice a right and left arrow. Click the arrow until you come to the photo entitled “Live Stream”, click anywhere in that blue box and it will connect you to the YouTube video of the most recent meeting.
Having a big event and want to rent the new Public Market Pavilion? The forms are now available online! From the City’s home page, hover over the “What’s Happening” tab and a new drop down menu will appear. Click on “Public Market”. On the bottom left of the Public Market page, click on the blue words “Renting the Public Market Pavilion”.
How about renewing your vehicle, trailer, ATV, snowmobile or boat registration online? Or obtaining your hunting and fishing license? Go to www.presqueislemaine.gov, hover over the “I Want To” tab and a new drop down menu will appear. Simply choose the desired action from the list and click. You will automatically be redirected to the correct State website to complete your registration or renewal.
Did you know that you can sign up to receive a 30-day advance renewal reminder? This can also be done from the state site by entering your email address.
Many other useful tasks may also be accomplished from the website. You can contact various city employees through email, look up information on the city departments, read city ordinances and policies, view city reports such as the strategic plan or annual report, see the City Council agenda, get access to a listing of area events, find out how to register to vote or obtain a copy of your birth certificate, and find quick links to other pertinent information such as on the Central Aroostook Chamber of Commerce.
