It was another great weekend of golf. Houlton Community Golf course is in wonderful shape. The crew is working hard to provide excellent golfing golfing conditions. This week the St. John Seniors will be at the course on Wednesday for an all day event, so the course will be closed for public play.

Afterward, a meal will be served by the Lakeside Restaurant, so they will also be closed the public that night. Be sure to call and enter yourself or your two-man team for the 6-6-6 tournament on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 8 a.m. A fun all net match with strategy skills as you play 6 holes best ball, 6 holes scramble, and 6 holes alternate shot.

Coming in August will be the annual County Open. It will be held this year in honor of Donald Collins, for his many years of dedicated service to our course and throughout the county. Friday night will be a social down at VaJoWa in Island Falls. BBQ and dancing w/ proceeds going to HRH foundation.

Saturday is the Open stroke play tournament at Houlton Golf Course, followed by dinner provided by Bill and Nancy. Sunday will be the Open four man scramble at VaJoWa. We would like to fill the tee sheets this year in honor of Don, so give the courses a call to sign up. Singles may sign up and will be grouped together with others. Be thinking about the Babe Caron Memorial coming on Labor Day weekend.

The Lakeside Restaurant will be having a night of dinner and music with Paul LaPoint on July 29th. Call Nancy at 694-9494 for reservations and enjoy music of the 1960s, 70’s, and 80’s.
