HOULTON, Maine — The smash-hit multimedia show A Day In The Life: A Beatles Experience comes to the Houlton Community Arts Center on Friday, Aug. 19, 2016, at 7 p.m. This Maine-born show is making its first ever Northern Maine stop as a part of their 2016 regional tour.
The five-person cast of A Day in the Life takes the audience on a multi — sensory journey back to the turbulent decade of the 1960s. A collage of media depicting the highs and lows of the counterculture movement during the era of free love, peace, and hippies accompanies the live onstage performance by the show’s cast.
The Beatles’ entire groundbreaking career, from Ed Sullivan to Abbey Road, is recreated through five costume changes, leaving the audience with a feeling of pure nostalgia. The cast of A Day In The Life recreates more than 30 Beatles songs, many of which were never performed live, with note-for-note authenticity.
Hear classics like “I Want to Hold Your Hand,” “Yesterday,” “A Hard Day’s Night,” “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band,” “I Am the Walrus,” “Come Together,” “Let It Be,” and, of course, “A Day in the Life.”
The show features Morgan Cates (bass), Ira Kramer (rhythm guitar), Josh Kovach (lead guitar), Andrew Carlson (drums), and Colin Graebert (keyboards). A Day In The Life is the only complete Beatles retrospective on the East Coast performed with Beatles-aged performers. Lighting design is by Micah Roemmich, sound design by Duane Shimmel, video design by Jalina Brown, and costume design by Emily Widdoes.
