WOODLAND, Maine — The Selectpeople of Woodland looked over three bids for their Ford L9000 dump truck during the July 19, 2016 meeting in the town office, and decided to accept high bidder Griffeth Farms’ offer of $3,001 for the vehicle.
Other bids included $1,000 from Freddy Brown Jr. and $2,595 from Moir Farms in Woodland.
Once the board motioned to accept, Selectperson Carl Grant said the bid would be tabled in 30 days.
Steve Dumais, road commissioner for the Highway Department in Woodland, informed the board that he has been mowing around guard rails and that he had graded both the Rabbit Ridge and Bonderson roads.
Selectmen William Barnum asked Dumais about the progress of the sand salt shed project.
“It will be done before winter,” said Dumais. “It’s not a big job.”
Additionally, Administrative Assistant and Deputy General Assistance Admin Amber Moutinho read office updates to the board.
“Excise for June was $21,414.50, and for year to date we are up $1,276.89,” Moutinho said. “We’ve also collected 25.2 percent of 2016 taxes and have given $6,335.78 in discounts thus far.”
