HOULTON — After years working for a larger company, Nicholas Fournier has decided to take the plunge and start his own plumbing and heating business in southern Aroostook County.
In May, he decided to venture out on his own and created Fournier Plumbing and Heating from his home on Smyrna Street.
“It was a big decision,” Fournier said. “There was a fair amount of startup costs, but my boys are getting older and I thought it was time to start doing something for us. We are family-owned and operated.”
Fournier said his dream is for his sons Jarett, twins Adam and Evan to take an interest in the business as they grow up, and possibly join him in creating a family legacy. Jarett has already been helping his father out this summer.
Fournier, who is fully licensed and insured, has been involved in plumbing work for about 17 years, earning his degree from then-Northern Maine Technical College. He worked several years at McPartland and Sons of Houlton.
He provides all aspects of heating service, including radiant floor heating, oil furnaces, heat pumps, and pellet boilers. He has a master’s licenses in both oil and solid fuel, as well as a installation and service tech license for propane.
Fournier said he is willing to take jobs throughout Aroostook County, as well as parts of northern Washington and Penobscot counties. For more information, visit https://www.facebook.com/FournierPlumbingandHeating/?fref=ts or call Fournier at 694-7357.
