Firefighters douse trash can fire

WOODLAND, Maine — Early Sunday morning, a trash can in a garage on 526 Woodland Center Road caught fire.

A neighbor called Caribou Fire Department as soon as they noticed the flames.

According to Firefighter/Paramedic Adam Chartier, the department was on the scene for roughly half an hour, and the fire was out within minutes.

While Chartier was not on location during the fire, he says the department used less than 1,000 gallons of water to subdue the burning garbage.
