RSU 39 fills positions

CARIBOU, Maine — The RSU 39 Board accepted three faculty nominations during their July 21, 2016 meeting. Eric McGough will be leaving his position as a special education teacher at Caribou High School and taking on assistant principal, athletic director, and Title 1 teacher duties at Limestone Community School.

The special ed position will be replaced by another nominee, Jessica Doucette.

“I always like to meet with teachers before hiring them,” said Superintendent Tim Doak, “and I’m very excited to have Eric as an administrator. He has been a wonderful special education teacher, and it will be a bit of a loss for Caribou High School, but a huge gain for Limestone Community School.”

Doak added that, while there are not many special education applicants in Aroostook County as well as the state, he believed Doucette was a good choice for the position.

Additionally, the board will be hiring Megan Guerrette as a grade 2 teacher at Hilltop Elementary School.

“I think we’re going to have three great new teachers coming on board in the future,” Doak said.
