CARIBOU, Maine — The final race in segment 2 of the Friday Night Summer Karting Series at Spud Speedway was held despite a threat of rain and a drying track.
In the Spud Speedway Kid Karts division, Gage Theriault of Limestone, followed by Kayden Haines of Caribou and Avery Lloyd of New Denmark, New Brunswick.
In the Haney’s Building Specialties Junior Champ Kart division, Noah Coventry of Van Buren claimed his first feature race victory, with Theriault the runner-up.
The Aroostook Savings and Loan Senior Champ Karts category saw Damian Theriault of Caribou come through with the win, with Jason Theriault of Caribou second and Tom Hale of Westmanland third.
The third and final segment in the series resumes Aug. 12, 2016. Admission is free to the grandstands and the cost is $10 for the pits.
