HOULTON — Patsy Ann Thibodeau, 69, passed away after a 16 year battle with Parkinson’s disease on July 19, 2016 in Houlton. She was born November 8, 1946 in Houlton, the daughter of Ivan and Vivian (Beaton) Upton.
Patsy grew up in Monticello and attended Monticello schools until high school. She graduated from the Bridgewater Classical Academy in 1964, went on to get her LPN from Presque Isle in 1966 and received her RN degree in 1992 in Hartford, CT. She married Dale Thibodeau in East Hartford in February of 1968. She worked at the Riverside Nursing Home in East Hartford for 30 years and was very active in her local church in Connecticut, especially in the children’s programs. In 2006 Patsy moved to Houlton with her husband, Dale, due to her ailing health and spent over 8 years in local nursing homes. She was quietly a very good friend and very supportive, especially to her husband. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, siblings and cousins in NH.
She is survived by her husband, Dale of Houlton; her three children, David and Kris of Vernon, CT, Dana and Nathan Murphy of Fayetteville NC, Dean and Keri of Fairbanks, AK; eightgrandchildren, Emily and Jack Murphy, Benjamin, Hunter, Tanner, Madison, Chandler and Molly Thibodeau; siblings, Max Upton, Charles and Ida Upton, Diane and Tom Berry all of Monticello; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents and two brothers, Stephen and Wayne.
Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water Street, Houlton where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. on Friday with the Pastor Chester Ammons officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. A time of fellowship will immediately follow the interment at Bowers Funeral Home.
